Agariya community is facing crucial issues of poverty, exclusion from main stream development or welfare programmes, social taboo, negligence from policy makers and many others.
Community resides in far away places for almost 2/3 time of the year. The basic services like water supply, health services, road, electricity, ration, nutrition support which is planned for any revenue village is not planned for Agariya (salt farm) areas. Basically salt farm areas and salt farmers residing there are not considered by departments while they make plan for entire state. Agariya falls in nomadic and de-notified tribes. Thus this is true for other 36 NT-DNT communities also.
