As Agariya community reside in far away places for most part of the year engaged in salt farming activity, they have very limited access to health services. Health issues in Agariya community are very severe and can be looked as
- Occupation related (Skin, eye sigh, high BP etc)
- Other health diseases (stomach ache, diarohhea, typhoid, jaundice)
- nutrition related (malnourishment, night blindness, low HB etc)
Some efforts are done by government to reach out to working places and provide health services to Agariya community. However quality and regularity of the services is significant issue. This is mainly lack of comprehensive planning by respective districts, block to cover far away salt farming areas.
AHRM has been continuously advocating for bringing change at planning level. Several meeting and representations done at district and state level. A detailed note below gives details of health issues and what needs to done.
